Ossian’s Photo of the Week: The Galapagos

This week, I will give you a taste of The Galapagos—one of the few places in the world where you can take wildlife photos with a wide angle lens!  In the photo below, these Galapagos sea wolves were lying on the beach without being disturbed by our presence.

One of the reasons I love the Galapagos is because you are surrounded by wildlife that is not bothered by our presence. Therefore the animals continue with their life as if we are visitors; we are part of the wildlife but–and this is important– we are playing a neutral role. They have never learned to fear humans and know that we will not hurt them nor we will not feed them. This results in a wonderful and incredibly unique opportunity for photographers—they fly, feed, mate or sleep for your camera.

A photo journey to the Galapagos is an unforgettably exciting and incredibly rewarding once-in-lifetime experience, one where you are immersed in a wondrous and ancient island world. In addition to seeing seals and pelicans, during our daily beach walks and rest times on the boat, we photograph many other animal species and stunning landscapes.

I hope you will join me this August 8-18th on our small luxury ship, La Beluga for our very special Galapagos Magic photo journey. Our experience on La Beluga is unique from other photo tours that travel on larger vessels. Cruising the islands on the Beluga with Travel Vision, you will enjoy the teachings of a full-time, expert Galapagos naturalist and I will be offering one-on-one nature photography instruction on our walks and during our down time on the boat.

With the expert crew of the Beluga, the pioneers of Galapagos small boat travel, you will not only completely relax as you enjoy their impeccable service and delicious meals, you will get closer to shore and visit the islands at the ideal times, all thanks to over 30 years of experience perfecting the island hopping itinerary experience. Explore moments from this incredible Galapagos experience here.

This exclusive itinerary combines 2 days in Ecuador’s clouds forest with 8 days cruising the Galapagos photographing and learning about the rare wildlife and stunning volcanic landscape of the world’s most enchanted islands.
